Haider Ali inspired by Rohit Sharma's batting approach

On Friday, the batsman of Peshawar Zalmi, Haider Ali, displayed his ability to emulate Rohit Sharma, saying that he wants to be as free-minded as the batter of the Indian star.

The 20-year-old had said Sharma was always his favorite bat in the post-match interview after Zalmi's nail-biting win against Quetta Gladiators.

"Rohit Sharma is my favorite player, "He said. He said. "I have enjoyed it and I want to imitate it when playing with a free mind.  I want to do the same."

Haider, who played Pakistan in 10 T20 Internationals and two ODIs, believes that international cricket playing adds to the responsibility of a team, as people demand ever more from those who make international news.

"It raises people's standards once you play for your country, makes it tougher to work and 100% in any game that you play," he said.," he said. "I'm not going to mislead fans who expect me.

The Zalmi batsman also said that he wants to become the best batsman in the current season of the Pakistan Super League. "I want to be the best here batsman and I'd like to be in the top five PSL batsmen, even though I didn't," he said.

The right-hander gave it credit for teamwork as he spoke about the win over the gladiators.

He also hoped that in the coming matches Zalmi would maintain the victory momentum.

"The victory has been supported by everybody. Imam scored in the beginning and in the middle Shoaib Malik was chipping and then to the end, Rutherford did it for us. It was also a collective effort," said Haider.
