Samsung tops TV market for consecutive 15 years

Samsung Electronics remains the world's leading TV seller for the 15th straight year in 2020 behind its QLED and big TVs, a survey released on Monday.

The South Korean tech giant had a historic 31.9% sales penetration last year as compared to 30.9% a year earlier and expanded its lead in the field of global TV, according to the data from industrial researcher Omdia.


Omdia estimates that the world television industry spread to 225,35 million units in the midst of the latest pandemic of coronavirus slightly last year. In the fourth quarter alone, global TV shipments rose to a record high of 70.24 million units.

Samsung's rise in the video display industry is a pledge to the most unique experience in the area of home watching, together with the increasing QLED portfolio, 75-inch super-large screen segment leadership, and the introduction and creation of a lifestyle TV portfolio,


Based on the past 15 years, Samsung has applied creative development techniques that span multiple segments, address a wide range of customers and cases.

In 2021 Samsung plans to sustain its market-leading role by releasing and extending core products and incorporating its own technology and features into all TV ranges.
