Shaheen Afridi declared Lahore Qalandars Vice-Captain

Shaheen Shah Afridi, a Pakistan-fast bowler, was appointed the Lahore Qalandars vice-captain for the Super League of Pakistan's sixth edition. In PSL 2, Shaheen has joined Lahore Qalandars and has since become Pakistan's leading quick bowler and one of the best pacers worldwide.

Shaheen said he's so proud that he's called a new vice-captain. He thanked Lahore Qalandars for his management and said he looks forward to leading his team to achieve its first-ever PSL title.


Aqib Javed, coach of Lahore Qalandars, lauded his young fast bowling abilities and named him one of the world's best bowlers. He said Shaheen's game and franchise loyalty were unprecedented and that he was the face of the Lahore Qalandars brand.

Lahore Qalandars Chief Operating Officer (COO), Sameen Rana, was pleased to have Sheen Afridi named as team vice-captain. He said that Lahore has always been serious about showcasing young people, and that is the next step in creating powerful future leaders.

"We think Shaheen (Afridi) has always been really important and that it's time we stopped building him as either a leader," Rana Fawad said.


Shaheen is a member of the national team and Lahore Qalandars and can be helpful for any group interested in improving its command skills.

On 21st February in Karachi National Stadium Lahore Qalandars will be playing for Peshawar Zalmi with their first match of PSL 6.
