Two superstars are leaving PSL for international duties

Chris Gayle and Rashid Khan, two of PSL's largest foreign stars, will not be participating in the tournament because of the world's commitments. Both players started the tournament great as Gayle was over for a half-century and Khan played an important role in making Lahore a top PSL scorer.


While Gayle was in fine form, after losing 2 of their 2 matches his team Quetta Gladiators was placed under the table. On Monday Gayle and Rashid took the valuable scalp of the Universe Boss, each other's head to head with Rashid, as Lahore defeated Quetta by nine wickets.

In its next matches, Quetta faces Peshawar Zalmi, in accordance with PSL 2021, who will fight against the Multan Sultan.

In West Indies, T20I Gayle was chosen for the Sri Lankan series, but after he fulfilled his international responsibilities, he is hopeful to return. Gayle said he looks forward to returning to the second phase of the Lahore tournament.


  • "It's sad that I must leave PSL because I wanted to play the season in its entirety. I had to come and run the PSL. Anything I had to cheer the fans on," said Gayle.

Gayle is the top scorer in the tournament with 107 runs in two hosts and a superb half-century last night against Lahore Qalandars.


Rashid Khan will also carry on international tasks as the UAE will be the focus of a trial series in Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. In both matches, Khan bowling superbly, leading to the bat in Lahore's first match win.
