Who is Dhani Shahnawaz? The story of a Larkana villager

Shahnawaz Dhani had one of Pakistan Super League's most exciting debuts when he moved into the field for Multan Sultans in their match against Peshawar Zalmi. In the seventeenth match, Dhani took two vital wickets from Sherfane Rutherford and Tom-Kohler Cadmore and gave a glimmer of hope to the sculptors before things went south.

In the 19th spot, Dhani then gave 25 runs, while Peshawar followed the 194 targets, recording his first win and raising the PSL points table.

The hope of millions of young people around the entire nation has been a topsy turvy ride for Dhani, who comes from Larkana, Sindh. He was the highlight of his sublime performances on the first-class season of this year's Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. The cricketing fraternity was hit by the 22-year-old behavior.

Dhani was unsure if he'd make it like a cricketer before a few years back. Dhani said he worked in his village as a farmer who grew wheat and rice. He played with his mate's tape ball cricket, but his dad had certain limitations.

His father wants him to be an official of the government. His father thinks Dhani will lose concentration on his research and will watch cricket all day but Dhani's passion for the game will overwhelm his father's wishes. Dhani's family doesn't even have a television at home.

Sadly, a few years ago Dhani's father died. His brother's elder was encouraging him to fulfill his cricket passion.

"One day a Larkana Regional Cricket official arrived in the village and after seeing my bowling invited me to Larkana Under-19 trials. I didn't have the sneakers when I did tests and my friend gave me socks. I hadn't been playing cricket until that point, but the issue was solved and in the interdistrict game," said Dhani.

Dhani said no one knew PSL or cricket before this season, but the whole village is now satisfied.

In their next match against Lahore Qalandars, Dhani will be seen in the action against Multan on 26 February. This is the full schedule of Multan.
