Najam Sethi lashes out at PCB for ruining PSL 6

Najam Sethi, former President of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), said the PCB was alone responsible for postponing the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6. The PCB did not take the necessary action during the tournament and did not reduce the danger of COVID-19.

Sethi said there was significant damage to the reputation of the League and the nation and that PCB should be held responsible.

"Abrupt postponement of the PSL 6 would have a very negative effect on the future of the league and reports are being produced saying that the PCB has failed to ensure strict observance of the SOPs because many franchise owners and their family members, players and officials from PCB were clearly seen violating the SOPs in the national stadium.

The PCB should work with the NCOC to ensure that enough SOPs in the bio-secure bubble are applied. He added that PCB will work with this bubble.

Because all the SOPs, including the number of fans in the stadium, had been proposed by the NCOC, they would have had to monitor the bubble situation.

Sethi added that while the postponement causes a serious financial loss, PCB's primary challenge is recovering stakeholders' interest and placing PCB in a difficult situation with other international cricket boards.

Sethi, the man who introduced the PSL brand, has been deceived by the decline in the sixth edition of the level of the league. He says his team has spent a considerable amount of time and money to make PSL a global brand that the whole country is proud of and the league level has dropped significantly due to the negligence of the new PCB administration.
