PCB Announces the test results of COVID-19 and future of PSL 2021

The Pakistan Cricket Board's Media and Communications Director, Sami-ul-Hasan, has revealed that, while the integrity of the bio-secure bubble has been breached, PSL matches will continue as planned. He observed that since yesterday a total of 244 experiments have been done, three of which have been positive.

He said that 2 international players and a PSL franchise official tested positive for COVID-19 and sent them to the bio-secure bubble isolation facility. The individual's identity has not yet been revealed.

He said that such incidents had previously existed in numerous sports around the world and it is not necessary to blow it out of proportion.

The match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators was rescheduled yesterday, with a positive test by Islamabad's leg-spinner, Fawad Ahmed, for COVID-19. In order to know the extent of the virus transmission, PCB has immediately chosen to perform checks of all individuals in the bio-secure bubble.

Rumors have been made that the Liga is being postponed or discontinued, but the PCB has abandoned these rumors.

Hasan said that the bio-secure bubble will now be put more emphasis, as well as the pace of tests. He also revealed that every four days COVID-19 tests are carried out by both individuals.
