Punjab begins Digital Mapping of all cities

The Board of the Revenue of Punjab began the digital mapping of big cities across the province by the project known as the Cadaster of Punjab. The Punjab cadaster is a 150 million US dollars foreign-funded initiative under which the first step of mapping all Punjab buildings is scheduled. Numbers are allocated to these buildings in the second process. In addition, all buildings will be digitized in their location, value, and owner information.

The project will initially be launched in Lahore and will then be moved to other large and small towns. After all the cities are protected under this project, the number of properties in the Khasra Legal Document is removed.

In addition, digitization of mapping data it will make it easier for those who had previously visited one bureau or another to obtain this information. This is a fantastic development because it will minimize land gravure and other fraud in Punjab.

Punjab Cabinet has approved land reform legislation under which it has been declared public offices for private offices of housing firms. These companies are sealed and measures are taken to combat them unless they want to conduct routine audits.

Other than this,, the authorities have also implemented Digital Girdawari [periodical inspection to verify ownership]. Since the old system of Girdawari is outdated.

According to him, according to him:

"With a 100% digital forecast, annual crop production will become possible. It is helpful for banks to issue lending because they have accurate records of ownership of the applicant's lands."
