Xiaomi plans to introduce the first electric car in 2023

Not the only leading manufacturer of electric vehicles is Apple. Recently there have been reports on Xiaomi's plans to produce electric vehicles for the "consumer market." Any data on this strategy was never officially announced, but Xiaomi is going to combine and produce EVs in China with an auto-giant Great Wall factory. Xiaomi is scheduled to arrive in 2023 as the first electric car brand. The reports say that early next week, the agreement will be publicly confirmed by both firms.

It's really clear that Xiaomi is jumping in the same race for the EV market with Apple gunning. As one of the largest smartphone brands in China, it works with limited margins and can effectively meet short-term challenges including recent shortages. During the entire year, EVs can provide Xiaomi with a stable revenue source.

However, Huawei, apart from Apple alone, is also targeting the car industry. Baidu, a Chinese company, revealed previously plans to produce an EV with Geely. Technology companies entering the automotive industry may now seem like a novelty, but they may be very popular in a few years' time.

In short, Xiaomi hopes that by integrating eco-friendly automobiles into its portfolio, more customers and enthusiasts will be able to accept their products. However, the auto sector can only rely on brand loyalty and customer requirements.

Lei Jun, the Founder, argues that the firm's hardware design experience will benefit him. Xiaomi offers many products that span all grades, from smart TVs to rice cookers, in contrast to many of its rivals. He knows how to produce many products and if you invest in the brand, it will certainly profit.
