In March alone, 40,867 Pakhtunkhwa residents benefitted from free medical facilities

Taimur Khan Jhagra has declared Saturday a new number for the compulsory KPK medical insurance – Sehat-Sahulat Program. The Minister of Finance & Health Pakhtunkhwa. The published data indicate that in March (2nd month of complete roll-out), 40,867 residents of Pakhtunkhwa benefited alone from Sehat Card Plus. Curring patterns reveal a monthly increase in the service spectrum with overall recipients rising by 24 percent compared with February in March. 500,000 KPK people are projected to benefit annually from free universal insurance, and 2,5 million in the next five years.

After its launch in November 2020, a total of 109,000 people have used the Sehat Insaf Card.

The Sehat Card Plus plan, implemented by the Health Department of KPK, plans to allow over 6.5 million families and 40 million Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people free treatments (also covering COVID-19 treatments). The groundbreaking scheme offers up to 1 million Rs free health services.

The SSP initiative seeks to increase access through a micro-health insurance system for vulnerable people to health care of high quality.

Prime Minister Imran Khan declared last year in phases that all citizens in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would get universal health care through the Sehat Insaf card within one year. Citizens eligible to take advantage of the Sehat Card should send their NIC number to 8500 via SMS to verify their service availability.
