More than 100,000 patients have received KPK's Sehat Card free medical care, Minister said

KPK, Taimur Khan Jhagra, Minister of Health and Finance, has announced the release of 100,000 more worthy patients with restricted means of care through Sehat Card Plus Universal Health Insurance, the new government. Within five months (1 Nov - 29 March), the KPK government offered free treatment. The minister welcomed this growth and added that 35,000 patients, up from 7,000 in the old scheme, use the service monthly.

The Sehat Card Plus scheme is being implemented in the province of KPK through the Health Department to allow over 6.5 million families and 40 million Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people to receive free medical treatment (also for COVID-19). The ambitious initiative offers up to Rs. 1 million free health facilities.

The SSP is aimed at improving access by a micro health insurance system for the vulnerable to high-quality medical services.

Prime Minister Imran Khan declared in phases last year universal health coverage via the Sehat Insaf Card to all citizens of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Citizens who are willing to use the Sehat Card can send their National Identity Card Number up to 8500 to review their program eligibility.
