PCB Hiring a Pakistan Team Psychologist After Zimbabwe Series

The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) wants to employ a psychologist for the team members in the National High-Performance Center (NHPC). The vacancy on the official website of PCB has been posted.

The cricket team in Pakistan was generally considered 'mentally weak' in the cricketing fraternity. Unable to deal with pressures also lead to undesirable collapses.

In many other sports around the world, the method of recruiting a counselor was commonly used. Many analysts and journalists in cricketing have previously requested PCB to recruit a player psychologist and the board has agreed to employ one.

The psychologist is expected to monitor the psychological performance of players and to help them cope with their personal and professional problems, according to their job description. The psychologist would consult not only with the players but also with the coaches and managers of the national team.

In addition, after Dr. Sohail Saleem resigned last month for the postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), PCB is also trying to employ a new Chief Medical Officer elsewhere.
