Shaheen Afridi Rejected Management’s Decision During South Africa Tour

Shaheen Shah Afridi is the Pakistani leading fast bowler and one of the world's overworked cricket players today. Since his debut for the national side in 2018, he has always played cricket.

The management of the Pakistani team was strongly criticized for the overuse of Shaheen's services, with experts advising him to rest from time to time.

Sources indicate that for the past couple of months, Pakistan's management team has sought to rest Shaheen, but the pacer declined to sit on the bench himself. The national team selector manager, Mohammad Wasim, also recommended Shaheen to take some time off from cricket and give his body plenty of time to recover from international cricket rigors.

According to the figures, since early 2020 Shaheen has bowled for a fast bowler the highest number of overheads in international cricket. The Indian Jasprit Bumrah has bowled 374.3 over all formats, and 339.0 is the second-largest number of overriding Indians.

Shaheen was a key member of the national team formed in all forms, but its recent form was somewhat disappointing. In his latest short overview series against South Africa, he was not his normal best, collecting just nine wickets in 3 ODIs and 4 T20Is.

The team management is reportedly careful about the workload of Shaheen and wants to spend some time against Zimbabwe in the upcoming series, with young people who will be part of the line-up.
