Vivo is at the top of the Chinese market for the first time

For the first time ever, the Vivo climbed to the top position on the Chinese local market, according to Counterpoint's China Smartphone Weekly Tracker. Due to its consumer-friendly product line-up, Vivo exceeded its closest competitor OPPO in the 11th week of 2021.

The competition for the number one smartphone market in China is increasing every day, with the most important spot seeing variations from time to time. Due to the promising results of its newly released budget models Y3 and S9, Vivo was able to overtake OPPO during Week 11 and again at Week 13,

The Nex 3 5G e iQOO Pro 5G was unveiled in August 2019 and September 2019 respectively, making Vivo one of the first mobile brands on the market. In February 2021, Vivo extended its 5G portfolio rapidly from a mere 0.5% in August 2019 to represent more than 76 percent of its revenue.

The simple location of the commodity has bored fruit for the enterprise. Currently, the NEX, X, S, Y, and iQOO subbrand portfolio of Vivo. The NEX and X series are the flagship series of Vivo focusing on camera capabilities and the S and U series have a high price. The Y series is planned for consumers on budget when the iQOO is online. Moreover, through a strategic collaboration with German optical specialist Carl Zeiss Vivo made a further attempt to increase camera capability.

Since the US restrictions on the company led Huawei to battle, other Chinese smartphone producers have been keen to benefit. Senior Analyst Yang Wang commented on industry dynamics,

Active business and productive plans are being pursued by VIVO and OPPO and both brands hope to continue to be in the top ranks in 2021.
