The veteran pacer of Pakistan, Wahab Riaz, voiced his disappointment at the way he was excluded from the first team event based on a series only.

The 35-year-old said that his profile probably fails to find favor with the selectors when he discussed the situation of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), unclear selection criteria,

If you honestly ask me, after just one poor series with New Zealand, I'd disappointedly get dropped. In England and even before that, I was a great player in the series against Zimbabwe.

Riaz stressed more the need for squad balance by suggesting a mix of young age and expertise as well as the right bowling attack.

He also revealed that Mohammad Wasim, Chief Selector, urged him to develop his bowling.

"You'll see improvement, I am working on it," he affirmed.

In the series T20I against England to be held in July, Riaz is optimistic about his likely return to play. He said the team also wants Mohammad Amir's experience.
