Afghanistan to Host Pakistan in a Historic Series This Year

Afghanistan, which is also likely to be moved from India to the UAE in view of the devastating COVID-19 situation of the latter, will host Pakistan in August and September of this year before the T20 World Cup in the UAE.

While the final decision is still pending on the venue, this year the ACB and PCB have held talks to organize the three-match series ODI and T20I in the UAE.

An official developer privy of the ACB stated that either Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, or Dubai is hosting both limited overviews.

ACB Chairman Farhan Yusefzai also met earlier this month to discuss logistics, including visa issues, with Saeed Abdul Ghaffar Hussain, Secretary General of UAE's Sports General Authority. In its host in the UAE in January, Afghanistan's team faced some visa problems.

In the events at the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Pakistan and Afghanistan have faced each other five times, including four ODIs and one T20I.

Both sides never played bilateral series, however. If things go as scheduled, the bilateral series between Pakistan and Afghanistan will be held for the first time.
