GCU Lahore Launches a Ranking System for Measurement of Academic Performance

In order to measure the performance of many academic departments, the Government College University (GCU) in Lahore created a new standard ranking system.

The major indicators of the ranking system include the effectiveness of the student advisory system of the Department, the creation of rubrics for evaluations, updated curriculum manuals, seminars, lectures, training workshops, and cumulative teaching results for evaluations by students.

The new ranking system, designed following a time-consuming process, seeks to strengthen university academic changes and encourage healthy interdepartmental contests to enhance student learning curves.

In this respect, Prof. Zaidi, GCU Vice-Chancellor, pointed out that "most institutions in Pakistan are designed to gauge, to progress and to compete at the greatest level and, thus, many of these institutions are planning to give an example to our academic system."
