New Dates for PSL 2021 Announced

Originally scheduled to resume the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) from 1 June, the tournament is expected to be slightly delayed after the move from Karachi to Abu Dhabi.

The rest of the tournament may begin with Islamabad United, a two-time winner, in the first-ever match since resumption, at the beginning of 5 June. The tournament finals are set for 20 June, and Pakistan's national team will be on the 23rd June.

The remainder of PSL 6 will probably be quickly followed, with five double-header players set for 15 days to go. Four double-headers may play in the group phases, while one in the playoffs is expected.

The PCB has discussed the schedule for this tournament with the PSL franchises, and the parties are expected to come to a consensus in the near future. Once a consensus is reached, the schedule is released to the public.

In the case of the COVID-19 outbreak in a band, the PCB has planned three different hotels for the six franchises and the others will remain quarantined at the same hotel. This decision was taken based on the advice of the bio-secure bubble company Restrata.

Until flying to the United Arab Emirates, players and staff must pass four COVID-19 checks. Upon their arrival, they will be subjected to two additional COVID-19 tests and trained after negative findings are recorded. After every three days, testing will resume on the touring band.
