OGDCL Discovers New Gas Reserves in Baluchistan

According to a notification sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday 17 May 2021, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) discovered gas in its exploratory well 'Jadran X-04' in Barkhan District, Balochistan.

OGDCL reported that it identified, boiled, and reviewed the site layout using the in-house experience of the firm. The bridge was poured into the Part being to at a depth of 1200m. Based on wireline logs, DST was successfully performed in Mughal Kot formation, where gas and 0.55 barrels per day (BPD) with well-head flow pressures of 1300 pounds per inch (psi) per 32/64" were measured in a well-tested 7.08 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

It also explains that the discovery of the new well is the outcome of an aggressive mining approach pursued by the OGDCL, opening the door to a new road and adding to both the company and the country's hydrocarbon reserves.
