Pakistan receives large COVID-19 vaccine shipment from China

On Sunday, Pakistan got another shipment of China vaccine COVID-19 comprising of 1.2 million doses.

On Sunday evening, Pakistan landed at Islamabad Airport carrying the vaccine doses purchased by China.

A batch of 1,000,000 doses of the SinoVac vaccine and 200,000 doses of the CanSino vaccine from China was sent to the Ministry of Health.

Sources have stated that on 21 May Islamabad will be reached again by another batch of 2 million National airlines.

Following the intensifying of virus spread in the region, the federal government has accelerated imports of COVID-19 vaccines.

Pakistan has signed contracts for the purchase of the COVID vaccine with several businesses, including Chinese companies, to accelerate the vaccination process in the country.

Pakistan vaccinates its population above 30 years of age and its older people now.

Earlier on 9 May, Pakistan had been given nearly 12 million doses of corona vaccine so far by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

In its announcement the Chinese National Command and Operation Center has issued a total of 11.9mln doses of China's Sinopharm, Sinovac, and CanSino vaccine COVID-19, and AstraZeneca from COVAX.

The Oxford University of AstraZeneca had received a vaccine of 1.23 mln in COVAX, the NCOC said.

It must be said here that a Chinese coronavirus vaccine will also be prepared locally by Pakistan from this month.
