PCB Gets Approval to Hold the Remaining Matches of PSL 2021 in UAE

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), according to sources, has been given the opportunity by the authorities to hold the remaining edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the United Arab Emirates in the sixth edition (UAE).

There was no definitive decision to place Abu Dhabi or Dubai as the probable venues. The itinerary for the tournament will likely be officially announced by PCB in the coming days.

Sources state that on 18 May players and personnel of all six PSL franchises must undergo COVID-19 checks and must file their passports only after a negative outcome has been achieved. The touring party is chartered flights to the UAE and must be sequestered for a period of 10 days upon arrival in the country.

The sixth PSL edition was initially held in Pakistan, but the tournament was canceled after a COVID-19 outbreak in the bubble with many players and staff who tested the virus-positive.

When the tournament resumes, the six franchises will battle to lift the coveted crown. All sit on the six points halfway through the tournament in Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, and Lahore Qalandars, with the Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators having 2 points.
