P@SHA thanks NCOC for the declaration of essential services by call centres

In the press release, the Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT & ITES (P@SHA) expressed its gratitude to Mr. Asad Umer – Head of NCOC, for considering the call centre request for essential services by P@SHA, which was exempted from 50% of home politics work and time restrictions at the NCOC meeting on 29 April 2020.

The Association also thanked the Pakistan Trade Development Authority (TDAP) and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom (MoIT&T) for their support of their application.

The exemption was automatically implemented. Both calling centres are closely advised to adhere to the SOPs declared for COVID -19.

P@SHA hoped that the exception would benefit Pakistan's call centres amid major setbacks from other developed nation during the pandemic.

Call centres form an important part of BPO operations and make a significant contribution to Pakistan's ICT exports at a rate of 37.81% and totalled $1.119 billion.
