Public and private schools to remain closed till May 23

Punjab Education Minister Dr. Murad Raas announced on Friday that all public and private schools in the province would remain closed until May 23 due to the third wave of COVID-19.

Murad Raas said in a tweet that the decision to close schools was taken in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

He added that a review meeting in this respect will be held on May 18.

Murad Raas encouraged people to follow corona standard operating procedures (SOPs) to the letter and spirit of the constitution in order to protect themselves and others from the virus.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood declared the suspension of all exams in the country until June 15 after a review of the COVID-19 situation in the country by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
