Saudi Arabia Pakistanis Living Respond to Call for RDAs from PM Imran

After Premier Imran Khan had recently visited Saudi Arabia, Dr. Reza Baqir, the governor of the Roshan Digital Accounts (RDAs), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), told a substantially greater number of Pakistani residents.

The prime minister was pleased about the news and said that the RDA promotion would have a good effect on the country's foreign reserves.

During the second week of May, the first visited Saudi Arabia. During his visit, at a ceremony held explicitly on RDAs he addressed the Pakistani community residing in the Kingdom. PM Imran also recognised the contribution to growth and economic prosperity of Pakistan of Pakistani residents of Saudi Arabia.

In April 2021 the inflows of transfers and funds through the RDAs reached $1 billion. The higher RDA inflow in Pakistan has been classified by Pakistani financial sector experts as a symbol of Pakistani overseas confidence in the economy of that region. These inflows have contributed to Pakistan's foreign exchange reserve growth and its surplus to its current account.
