When he called reporters, Adam Mosseri, Chief of Instagram, said that the major objective of the upgrade was to offer users access to their experiences on the network. In addition, the head of the app noted that concealing tests such as counts had not revealed any changes in user psychology, but divided user opinion.

In a demo, Instagram has been able for a limited number of worldwide users to switch between counting and display them.
