West Indies Announces the T20I Squad for Pakistan Series

In the coming T20 series against South Africa, Australia, and Pakistan, West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has selected the 18 members, provisional squad. These 18 members, the WICB officials say, will form their team in October-November for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

After more than one year, Andre Russell, the star-all-rounder, was the biggest player on the West Indies team. Russell is one of the world's most destructive T20 players, and in the recent suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL), his magnificent form has won him a national call-up.

Carlos Brathwaite the destructive all-rounder, and the fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, were the two surprise exclusions of the group, as the pick-ups chose alternatives such as the veteran all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo, and Obed McCoy, the young fast bowler.

Coach Phil Simmons from West Indies was pleased with the national team.

He said, "We assembled a really strong team—with world-class game-winners and some talented young players, who are ready to explode on the world stage and do amazing things for the cricket of West Indies."

The two-time World Champions are ready with a strong team to defend their title.
