Devices keep your all data when migrating to HarmonyOS 2

Huawei began rolling out HarmonyOS 2 in China and was an amazing hit because it reached 10 million active devices without any problems. While the operating system is very happy, there was a question in our minds. Most important, will we migrate our data if we switch to Harmony OS 2?

In an interview, the CEO of Huawei revealed important facts about the whole upgrade process. He said that all user data, games, pictures and apps migrate without data loss when the new firmware is released.

HarmonyOS 2 is in the last roll-out stage, and many users have now decided to take the public beta test in A/B testing. A few devices are on internal beta, Huawei certainly progresses quickly, and we didn't expect that.

The Executive has ensured it is smooth, and users will maintain their photos and login details for apps such as WeChat, QQ and other platforms and move from Android to HarmonyOS. He said later when the Huawei AppGallery becomes the main app store, users have to find apps not officially supported and then switch to the apps in the Huawei app store.

Since the Chinese brand cannot access Google services, users who use Huawei GMS packings on apps elsewhere than the home market may see that apps lost partial functionality or cannot work on Harmoney OS. This transition in other markets would thus be handled by the Chinese company's actual test.
