Misbah stated it was not his choice to let Younis go, and everything happened between the PCB and Yunis himself. Misbah said it was not a decision to leave Yunis. He stated that the squad must focus on their next matches and focus on the resources available.

In November last year, Younis was granted a two-year job as a batting instructor, but he quit the role just a few months afterwards. Detailed data suggests that Younis was not happy with his role. Some incidents, including an attack on the last Pakistan tour through South Africa with fast bowler Hasan Ali, contributed to his decision to resign.

It was also reported that Younis were also upset with the involvement inside the national squad of the National High-Performance Center (NHPC).

Misbah believes Pakistan has to get out of the saga and focus on its next tour of England and the West Indies. Misbah stated the team is well-formed, and the T20 WorldCup preparations would get well underway later this year.

The former captain feels that, except a few places, Pakistan has a set combination and would look forward to finding the perfect players for those positions on the upcoming tours. Misbah has stated more or less confirmation of the top four batters and the bowling unit. The numbers 5 and 6 are the only places left to fill.
