PCB to Live Stream The Matches of PSL 2021 on Facebook

The Pakistan Cricket Board is working with Facebook to deliver the event to a worldwide audience via the platform's Paid Online Events with Pakistan's largest cricketing event Pakistan Super League (PSL), due to take place in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, 9 June 2021.

The PSL is incredibly popular among Pakistani diaspora and cricket fans throughout the world and Pakistan. The tournament has outstanding cricket stars from different countries that are attracting worldwide interest. This new relationship with Facebook enables PSL to reach the world like never before, especially in the non-cricket markets.

The recent Facebook agreement by PSL will provide fans worldwide with live-action for the remaining 20 PSL 6 matches and assist PCB in exploring new ways of generating revenue.

Online payment events through Facebook help the Board to pay for matches when fans pay a nominal one-time membership fee for the live broadcast. The broadcast may then be watched at all times.

The online events are available worldwide other than the United States, Canada, Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Sub- Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Bhutan, Nepal and the Maldives; Where the PCB has existing foreign media partners rights agreements.

The Facebook team for sports partnerships cooperates with PCB and other companies in Pakistan to assist their fans in growing and engaging themselves and achieving their goals of monetizing the products and platform of Facebook.

Facebook is also working with PCB to develop various business opportunities and safety aspects for its players on the platform, as well as to organize a training program for the Pakistani women's national team, which was held in March 2021 to help them understand the value and unlock online participation and safety measures. The program was also formed by Facebook.
