Punjab's Universities are Unable to Enforce COVID-19 Vaccination

Following the suspension of vaccination efforts in many regions of Punjab due to a lack of doses, higher education institutions are finding it difficult to make vaccination mandatory for their staff.

"We will not be able to make it mandatory for students until the next term. Due to a shortage of shots, it is nearly impossible," claimed a senior official from a Lahore-based university.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has directed university administrators to vaccinate their employees and students, but academics claim that this is an unattainable objective.

Although the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) had previously informed university authorities of its vaccination by 14 June, because of the limited availability of dosages, most universities have expected to address their requirements.

Although health professionals believe that inoculating the spread of coronavirus is vital for students, the lack of vaccination dose hampers this situation.
