SBP Resources Drop by 311 Million Dollar in One Week

During the week ending 18 June 2021, foreign currency reserves held by the National Bank of Pakistan (SBP) fell by 1.89%.

On 18 June, foreign exchange reserves of SBP were registered at $16,106.1 million and decreased by $311 million compared on 11 June to $16,417.3 million.

The central bank ascribed the reduction to repayments of external debt.

SBP and commercial banks' total reserves of liquid foreign currency of $23,256.9 million have been recorded. According to the statistics, net reserves owned by banks other than the SBP were $7,150.8 million.


On 30 March 2021 Pakistan received the latest influx of foreign reserves via Eurobonds to reach $2.5 billion.
