Usman Khawaja Urges Australia to Tour Pakistan

The batsman in the Middle Order, Usman Khawaja, believes that it is high time for the Australian cricket squad on a complete tour to Pakistan. Khawaja stated Cricket Australia is obligated for keeping its commitment and touring Pakistan.

Khawaja said the security situation in Pakistan has significantly improved over the past few years, and foreign teams should play a role in bringing crickets to the country. Accordingly, Australia is due to tour Pakistan by 2022 and honour its commitment under the International Cricket Council's Future Tours Program (FTP).

"I believe Pakistan has shown sufficiently well that security is excellent here in the previous four or five years, that players are really comfortable coming here for the PSL, and so it is an opportunity for Australia. Also, this year I've heard England travel to Pakistan. Cricket will be good. Pakistan's cricket played a lot in Dubai and now must play in their home," stated Khawaja.

According to the FTP, Australia is expected to play a two-match test series, a 3-match ODI series and a 3-match T20I series in Pakistan in 2022 against the Men in Green.

The stylish batsman from the middle order was born in Islamabad. However, when he was five years old, his family moved to Australia. In the next rest of the competition's sixth edition, he will make his debut as a representative of his home team, Islamabad United, in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In 44 tests and 40 ODIs, Khawaja represented Australia, scoring more than 3 000 runs in both formats, with an average over 40. He will try to show his class at PSL and hope to return to the national side of Australia.
