HEC Advises About Degrees From Unaffiliated Colleges

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has ruled that there is no right to connect private universities and higher schools (HEIs) to colleges or other institutions.

In its Sunday Twitter post, the HEC stated that the competent authority will not accept degrees received from a private university/institution connected with a private university.

It claimed that private universities and higher education institutions were banned from being connected with other colleges and institutions because of serious irregularities in governance and poor educational standards.

The Board now observed that it is the only and highest leadership result for the opening and administering connections at any new college/institution.

"HEC is the country's only standard national higher education body," it added.

The Commission held that private HEIs can operate on campuses or sub-campuses with an HEC No Objection Certificate (NOC).
