LMC Signs and Agreement with Samsung to Maker Mobile Devices in Pakistan

Samsung Gulf Electronics Company, the FZE subsidiary for Samsung's mobile devices manufacture in Pakistan, is Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC).

Samsung's production facility would be installed in LMC's existing plant, located in the special economic area, Bin Qasim Industrial Park. By the end of December 2021, the manufacturing facility is to be complete.

In fact, Lucky Cement announced that in due course, Samsung and LMC will be discussing details on the amount to be spent in the facility and its capacity.

The Mobile Device Manufacturing policy (MDMP) had been approved by the Pakistan Engineering Development Board (EDB) in late 2020 and around 21 firms had been granted licenses to develop the country's mobile device assembly.

A Lucky Cement Ltd official said the business would start mobile production once the production facility is ready. According to an analyst, this project can earn annual revenues of around RS 1.0-1.5bn in its early years, of around 300-600m.

LMC is presently active in the fields of Kia and Peugeot's car manufacturing, assembly, marketing, distribution, and sale. And Samsung's mobile manufacturing in Pakistan will be launched soon. The size of the country's mobile phone is estimated at 2.5 billion dollars in terms of value, based on import statistics given by the Pakistan Statistics Bureau (PBS).
