Made in Pakistan Electric Bikes Imran Khan Launches.

Premier Imran Khan introduced the first ever indigenous electric motorbike produced in Pakistan. Last year, the government authorised the electric motorcycle.

The Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2020-25, which was adopted last year, has launched the electrical engine. It is anticipated that by 2030 and 2040, 30% of passenger cars and 90% of heavy goods vehicles would be converted into EVs.

PM Imran referred to the launching event as a "futuristic stride," while adding that the current government's EV policy established the proper way to go. Electric bikes have already been launched locally.

The Prime Minister observed that in the major cities to reduce pollution, electric bikes, in particular, as they are used more often.

He bemoaned Pakistan as one of the very few tree covered countries and stated that the EV policy is part of a wider effort to keep the country clean and green. The administration has also made a further step towards increasing forest cover in the country through the creation of new national parks.

PM Imran said that on the occasion of the World Environment Day in 2021, the efforts of Pakistan in fighting climate change were ultimately acknowledged worldwide as a UN environment programme.

On 4 June the premier chaired the virtual World Conference on the environment. Apart from PM Imran, the world environmental conference was attended by international luminaries like the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Pope Francis.

PM Imran concluded that Pakistan is acknowledged as a significant participant in the global warming struggle by the globe.
