Pakistan Received Shipment COVID-19 Vaccines AstraZeneca

Today, the vaccine AstraZeneca COVAX was given to Pakistan at 1,236,000 doses.

COVAX is a global project that works with governments and manufacturers to ensure vaccinations for COVID- 19 are available worldwide both for higher and low-income nations. It is led by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation (CEPI), the Vaccines Alliance, and the WHO.

AstraZeneca, Sameh Elfangary, Chairman of GCC country and Pakistan, said:

Every day, all partners strive to ensure as many COVID-19 vaccinations as feasible may reach as many people as possible. The significance of governments, business,es and others in working together to combat this virus is also shown in this milestone.
In the period of the pandemic, AstraZeneca is committed to delivering the vaccine widely and fairly worldwide. COVID-19 AstraZeneca Vaccine has since the start of this year helped to save tens of thousands of thousands of lives and to avoid hospitalizations.

Nearly 700 million doses have been released for delivery to 170 countries worldwide to date, with AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine making up around 90% of COVAX supply thus far, with 127 countries receiving over 80 million doses.
