Pakistan women cricketer Nida Dar Joins an Elite List of T20I Bowlers

The all-rounder of Pakistani women star, Nida Dar, achieved history by being Pakistan's first cricketer to get 100 T20I wickets. In the first T20I between Pakistan and the West Indies Dar achieved this achievement by picking up the wicket of Deondra Dottin, the west Indies batter.

Dar ended the innings with impressive 15/2 figures in four overall places as Pakistan restricted West Indies to 136/6. Unfortunately, as they dropped ten times short of the target, Pakistan's batting squad could not capitalise on their excellent position. In the T20I series, West Indies took the 1-0 lead.

The 34-year-old all-rounder is the 5th highest Wicket-taker in the Women's T20I history and has 101 wickets in 106 T20I. Behind the 4th highest wicket-taker, the medium-pacer of England, Anya Shrubsole she's just one wicket.

In both men's and women's cricket, Dar is the first Pakistani bowler to achieve a milestone of 100 wickets T20I. The former all-rounder of Pakistan men, Shahid Afridi, was formerly Pakistan's highest cricket winner with 98 scalps in 99 matches in T20i cricket.


Only the fifth woman in the world to achieve the milestone of 100 T20I wickets is the experienced off-spinner. The other four to achieve the record before Dar is the West Indian Bowler, Anisa Mohammad, Australian all-rounder, Ellyse Perry, South Africa's Shabnum Ismail and England's Anya Shrusbole.
