The protesters said they were taught all year round in online mode and could not prepare for the exams.

The students chanted slogans against the government and demanded Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood either to approve their demand to cancel exams or to leave their post.

Police were on location to handle any incidents and results and arrested some of the protesters.

In January, the HEC noticed the worries of students regarding face-to-face exams. Although the Vice-Chancellors of all the provinces and regions had a 3-hour meeting to discuss the issue, they could not reach a unified decision.
