Punjab Govt Hires about 13,500 Teachers on Daily Income

The Punjab government agreed for nine months to hire more than 13,500 school teachers in the whole province.

The government has chosen to employ instructors on daily salaries for the current academic year instead of long-term recruitment, according to media sources.

These instructors are recruited in six steps under the teachers' internship programme. In every round of the recruitment procedure, six districts are selected. In the initial round, online applications 13,736 instructors would be appointed on daily salaries. For this project, the Provincial Government has allocated Rs. 130,4 million.

The hiring takes place at level of the Union Council (UC) and is eligible for the application only for the jobless candidates of the UCs and the Council of Panchayat. In addition, the hired instructors will not be transferred.

The government accepts applications for postal services presently and the latest date for submitting applications is 15 July. Following this, the interviews will take place on 20 July with the nominees and on 5 August, the School Council will write to the selected applicants.

Instructors of primary education would get Rs. 800 per day, teachers of the Secondary School Rs. 1000 per day and teachers of higher secondary school Rs. 1200 per day.

Interested persons with minimal BA or BSc qualifications may apply. Male applicants are under 50 years of age, while women are under 55 years of age.
