Senate Body Asks FDE to Announce Summer Vacation from July 1

A parliamentary panel urged the Minister of Education to begin the summer break in Islamabad on July 1, following an increase in temperature.

It was recommended on Wednesday by the members of the Senate Standing Committee on Education, who called for the students' summer break from 1 to 18 July.

The chairman of the committee suggested that the ministry and the federal directorate of education (FDE) should reconsider their decision on summer vacation observance on 18 July: "The education ministry should take efforts to ensure that the summer break is taken as well in the capital from 1 July."

Officials from the Ministry were participated in the session assured the committee would consider the recommendations of the Committee.

The FDE issued a notice on Tuesday that the summer holidays will occur in schools from 18 July to 1 August.

On the other hand, the Regulatory Authority (PIERA) seems opposed to a decision as no notification has been given on this issue yet. As a result, many private schools are still open across the federal capital.
